George Wesley Cole Jr.'s Obituary
Our Beloved George W. Cole Jr. was born April 19th, 1954 in Waterloo, Iowa to George W. Cole Sr. and Charlean Wright. George attended East High School and graduated in 1972. While attending East High George was an awesome football player and made a name for himself. He was inducted into the Rings of Honor in September 2020 for outstanding contribution to the East High School football team and high standards of excellence since graduating, both on and off the field. He was an inspiration to those who knew him and those who follow in his footsteps. George participated in community football league where he played for Le Charo.
George was employed at the Boys and Girls Club for over 15 years. He was a great mentor to the youth at the Boys and Girls Club where he helped chaperone at camping trips and other events. George liked to teach the youth life living skills throughout his career at the club.
George was employed by the Salvation Army where he rang the bell. Everyone loved him. One thing George loved to do was to get on that fishing bank with his sister Frankie (TT Peewee) and his good buddy Wilber Smith. He loved the outdoors, doing landscaping and yard work throughout the community. You could always find him somewhere sleep.
George loved his family and would help them in any way that he could, whether it was to bring grills to the park for cookouts or hauling items wherever they needed it to go.
George is survived by his sisters and brother, Andrea Caradine (Pugh), Frankie Boehmer (Peewee), Ida Roby (Pula), Maryann Reed, Sandy Kuykendall, Ray Cole (Gina), Mattie Cole, and Shelia Cole. He also leaves behind his aunt Kathrine Galloway and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
