Gloria Jean (Jones) Robinson's Obituary
Gloria was a soft, spoken, calm and peaceful person even in the midst of a storm. A woman that would go to battle along side you and for you. A woman that would rather show you her smile and hide her tears and frowns. If you talked to her, she was going to make you laugh and she always had something crazy to say. A woman that spoke her mind and the truth, whether it was good or bad. A woman that showed her heart and her intentions by being a giver. She may not have much but what she had she would share. A woman that had a mind to fight a cancer battle and won.
She lived a full life from Chicago, Illinois to Waterloo, Iowa; to Tallahassee and Jacksonville, Florida; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; back to Waterloo, Iowa. Her final resting destination. She was not afraid to take risks in life and was always willing to take a leap of faith. She touched many lives in her own way but always in an impartial way. She did what she wanted, she said what she wanted, ate what she wanted, and did not let anything or anybody stop her from being who she was. She lived life, she did not want to just exist.
We celebrate that spirit. We will call that a life well lived.*
Gloria was preceded in death by her mother and father, Bernice and Rubert Jones; her sister, Deatrice Quicksey; and her brothers, James Edward, Larry, Rubert (Dell) Jr., and Calvin.
She is survived by her daughters, Laura Campbell and Kesha Jones.; her grandchildren, Robert (Quan), Elonte (Quesha), DeCarles (Maine), Meirica, Jalonteca (Sugga), and Derrick; her nephews, Quovadis, Jessie (Joe), and Theodore (Thee); and her nieces, Chajuan and Dorsey (Spanky).
I have fought a good fight; I have finished my course. I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not me only, but unto all them always that love his appearing. II Timothy 4:78
