Henry Murray Anderson's Obituary
A precious one from us has gone,
a voice we loved is stilled,
A place is vacant in our home
which never can be filled,
And after a lonely heartache,
and many a silent tear,
We’ll always have a beautiful memory
of one we loved so dear.
Henry Murray Anderson was born on October 17, 1965 to his father, Henry Fisher, and his mother, Darlene (Wright) Anderson. Later Darlene married Joseph Williams, whom lovingly raised him. Henry grew up in Waterloo, Iowa where he spent most of his life and was a proud resident. Henry was baptized at an early age at Union Baptist Church in Waterloo. As a member of the church, Henry enjoyed singing and directing the choir.
Henry was educated and graduated from River Hills School. He worked for various agencies, including Goodwill, NorthStar, and Adults Incorporated. He was also a member of the American Legion in Waterloo.
Henry was a man of many talents and passions. He loved sports and was a loyal Green Bay Packers and Iowa Hawkeyes fan. He was very athletic and loved to play football, basketball, and race anyone, anytime. Henry also had a very strong love for music. For many years, he led the choir and could be heard or seen dancing at any moment. He would sit and listen to music all day long, especially Michael Jackson.
Henry Murray Anderson passed away on April 12, 2026. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Fisher; his brother, Robert Lee Anderson, Jr.; his grandparents, Russell and Maggie Wright; and his nephews, La’Vance Cooper, Michael Anderson, De’Airius Anderson, and Marvellous Anderson.
Those left to honor Henry’s loving memory include his mother, Darlene Williams; his brothers, Isadore (Cherisse) Anderson and Michael (Jennifer) Anderson, both of Waterloo; his sisters, Sylvia Anderson, Valerie (Perry) Norman, and Mildred Williams, all of Waterloo, and Carmen Robinson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, godsisters, and godbrothers.
Henry will be truly missed by all who knew him. His family remains incredibly blessed and thankful for the beautiful time that God allowed them to share with him.
