Hollane Riley's Obituary
Hollane Riley, 80, was born in Pickens, Mississippi on April 3, 1944, the daughter of the late Mary Jane Torrey Sims of Holmes County, Mississippi and Hollie Sims of Pickens, Mississippi. She died December 29, 2024.
Hollane accepted Christ in her life at a young age and rededicated her life to Christ upon remarrying Tommie Riley at St. Luke Church in Waterloo, Iowa in December of 1978. He was her husband for 45 years.
Hollane moved to Waterloo in early January of 1961. She was employed at Holiday Inn, Yellow Cab, and Met Transit Authority. After retirement, she enjoyed doing hair and obtained a cosmetology license from Young School of Beauty and had a beauty salon in her home. Her love for children inspired her to go back to school and obtain a Child Care license and open a Day Care center from her home.
Some of her many hobbies included: sewing, fishing, and most of all, cooking; homemade cakes and pies were among many of her specialties.
She leaves to mourn one sister, Cora L.
