Kelvin Hayes' Obituary
Kelvin Hayes was born June 21st, 1961 in Chicago, Illinois to Ernestine Hayes and DeWitt Jackson. Kelvin peacefully departed from this world on October 16th, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family.
After pursuing his education he soon joined the Illinois National Guard at an early age, in which he served 13 years. Kevin was a family-oriented man who was known for his infectious smile, jokes, watching wrestling and his love for other sports as he often played.
Kelvin will forever be known as a loving husband, father and grandfather, brother and uncle. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Roshelle of Waterloo, Iowa and father of five, Kelvin (Alesha) of Waterloo, Candice (Michael) of Des Moines, Iowa, Marissa, Lakeisha, and Kelsey, of Waterloo. Grandfather of 16 grandchildren. Six siblings, Randy of Chicago, Jerome of Pensacola, Florida, Michael of Chicago, Wendi of Waterloo, Vivica, and Kewan of Chicago. Aunt Mattie Mae and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ernestine Hayes; father, DeWitt Jackson; brother, Gilbert Hayes; and sister, Elaine Jackson-Rodgers.
As we celebrate the life of Kelvin, we ask that you support and comfort one another knowing that what we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes part of us.
