LaQuinta "Quinn" Denise Thomas' Obituary
LaQuinta “Quinn” Denise Thomas was born on June 7, 1984, in Iowa City, Iowa. She was later adopted by Alexander “Tom” and Margaret “Peg” (Penney) Thomas in Waterloo, Iowa. She graduated from Waterloo East High School. She had three sons, Jalyis Thomas, age 20; Deondre Porter, III, age 14; and Brice Johnson, age 7. LaQuinta died on December 30, 2024, from complications with ongoing medical conditions, at UnityPoint Hospital, Waterloo.
LaQuinta held many jobs, but all shared a common theme of being a helper. She brought a zest for life to everything she did. She could talk as only a Gemini can. She did not mince words. Her spirit and laughter lit up any room she entered. Her greatest love was for her three boys. She lived for them. She will be missed by so many.
Preceded in death: Her grandparents, Alexander and Elizabeth (Harris) Thomas and James P. and Genevieve (Moran) Penney and her parents, Alexander “Tom” and Margaret “Peg” (Penney) Thomas.
Survived by: Sons, Jalyis Thomas, age 20, Deondre Porter, III, age 14 and Brice Johnson, age 7; siblings, Nick (Melinda) Thomas, Sallyjo (Robert) Freed, Hailey “Tiny” Thomas, Clayton (Julie) Thomas, Sue (Craig) Clubine, Brenda Nelson, Glen Thomas, Clint (Traci) Thomas, Chuck Thomas, Casey Thomas, and Tradis Thomas; and many cousins and friends.
