Linda Bernice Cole's Obituary
Linda Berniece Cole was born in Waterloo, Iowa on January 29, 1948. She moved with her mom and stepdad to Strong Arkansas in 1953. Linda moved back to Waterloo where she attended Grant Elementary School and McKinstry. She finished High School in Strong, Arkansas. After returning to Waterloo after graduation she worked at Schoitz Hospital as a cook, graduating from Hawkeye Tech (currently known as Hawkeye Community College). After receiving her L.P.N. from Hawkeye Tech, she met and married Frenchie Campbell and from this union, Christopher (aka) “Critter" was born. They were later divorced. Years later after they divorced, she met Earl Love and from this union, Patricia Love (aka) “Tweet” was born. Linda married Toby Cole September 12th, 1998. They were married 25 plus years. To this union, Linda loved and gained a daughter, Natoya Cole.
After leaving Schoitz, she was hired at Viking Pump Industrial Park for 13 years. Linda became an L.P.N. working at St. Francis Hospital and Allen Hospital. She later became a beautician, graduating from La James College. Linda drove a school bus while working as an associate. She also worked at APAC as a telemarketer and was a former Antioch Church secretary.
Linda was so very talented and also held the following roles: crafted crocheter; farmer’s market shopper; school bus driver; para-educator; she assisted with meals on wheels; nickname giver; bass player; sang in choir; church usher; choir director; dance team member; and a great, great cook. She was given the name – “chitlin-ologist”.
Linda is survived by her husband, Toby Cole; three children, Christopher (Jamie) of Waterloo, Patricia (Linnie) of Houston, Texas, and Natoya of Coralville, Iowa; one sister, Debra Walker of Waterloo; one brother, Cordell Smith; one grandchild, Christina Campbell; one great-granddaughter, Kaylani Moya; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sisters-in-law, as well as a host of friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Sanomia Gordon; two sisters, Sylvia Smith and Phyllis Ann Smith; and her grandparents, Deacon George and Nola Berdell.
