I first learned the name "Monroe Stevens" from my father, who spoke it. It was always with great respect and positivity. I later saw Mr. Monroe in a church setting and put a face with the name. Things matched for me, as Mr. Monroe was friendly, kind, gentle; yes, the giant of a man that my father introduced me to by the way he said his name. So glad God blessed Mr. Monroe with a long life and the ability to still get around in the community in most of his latter years.
