Thomas Clifton (Butch) Davis Jr.'s Obituary
Thomas Clifton (Butch) Davis Jr., 70, of Waterloo, Iowa died Wednesday, December 4th, 2024 at Cedar Valley Hospice of natural causes. He was born July 23, 1954 in Highland Park, Illinois, the son of Thomas C. Davis Sr. and Lorraine (Baker) Griffie. Thomas graduated from East High School and served in the Navy as a medic.
He was married to Edwina Flowers and from that union Fawn Davis was born; they were later divorced. He later married Stephanie Parker and from that union Brittany Sisk and Nathan Davis were born.
Thomas retired from John Deere after 33 years. He also worked 10 years at Whittaker and for a brief period at Tyson’s.
Thomas accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior and was a member of Faith Temple American Baptist Church. He starred as one of the magi in the nativity.
Thomas enjoyed playing pool, chess, bowling, fishing, reading, playing cards, and was known as the BBQ king. He also loved spending time with his grandkids and family.
Thomas is survived by his mother, Lorraine Griffie; two daughters, Fawn Davis and Brittany (Leroy) Sisk of Waterloo; his sons, Nathan Davis of Indianapolis and David Grier of Arkansas; his sisters, Delores (Bunny) Mosley and Stephany Hoskins of Waterloo; his brother, Marc (Sheila) Lewis; his grandsons, Quinton Davis, Jaiden Card, Amar’e and Alijah Shavers and Leroy IV; and a host of nieces, nephews, many cousins, and extended family members.
He was proceeded in death by his father, Thomas Davis Sr.; his brother, Eric Davis; his son, Corey Parker; and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
