Thomas "Big Tom" Daniel Donnakey Gordon - "The Tire Man"'s Obituary
Thomas “Big Tom” Daniel Donnakey Gordon, age 63, of Waterloo, Iowa passed away at 11:35 a.m. on Monday, February 3, 2025 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.
Big Tom was born September 11, 1961 in Yazoo City, Mississippi, the son of Lee Irving and Roberta Montgomery. He attended Dubuque Wahlert High School in Dubuque, Iowa. He was a former employee of Rath Packing Company. He later started his own company, “Tommy Tires” hauling, transporting, and selling tires. He also volunteered as a basketball coach at The Boys and Girls Club in Waterloo, combining his love for children and sports.
On June 4, 1994, he married MiShell Kincaid in Marion, Indiana (they later divorced). Big Tom was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He loved to travel and spend time with family and loved ones.
Big Tom is survived by his three brothers, Gus Greed of Waterloo, Lindsey Gordon of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Kinsey Gordon of Marshalltown, Iowa; one sister, Nefeteria Gordon of Muncie, Indiana; three sons, Orlando (Shaniece) Sisk, Tommy Gordon Jr., and Brian Kincaid, all of Waterloo; four daughters, Iesha Sisk of Waterloo, Marisa (Fernando) Galli of Sacramento, California, and Shanetta Sisk and Shantella Kincaid, both of Waterloo; 16 grandchildren; one great-grandson; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Big Tom was preceded in death by his mother, Roberta Montgomery; two aunts, Joella Ford and Ruby Sledge; and an uncle, Frank Ford.
Memorials may be directed to the family at 135 Monroe Street in Waterloo, Iowa.
