Tony Maris Jenkins' Obituary
Tony Maris Jenkins, 62, of Waterloo, Iowa died on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at home of natural causes. The epitome of a man, ALWAYS there no matter what. As a provider, a shoulder to cry and lean on as well as to bring laughter when least expected but much needed. A Smile that lit up the room whenever he entered. You could feel the genuineness in his hugs.
He was born on October 29, 1961 in Waterloo, son of Marvin Jenkins Sr. and Ella Tyler. He married Delorse Wright-Micou. They later divorced.
After working more than 40 years at MercyOne in Waterloo he retired in 2023.
Tony is survived by his long-time partner, Linda Wilson; his three children: two sons, Demarris and Tiris Jenkins of Waterloo and one daughter, Tytania Jenkins of Iowa City, Iowa; two sisters, Barbara and Sandra Kay of Waterloo; three brothers, Marvin Jr., James Earl, and Bryant, all of Waterloo; three granddaughters, Armoni and Cali of Waterloo and Eviyon of Iowa City; two grandsons, Taj of Waterloo and Djimon of Virginia; and one great-granddaughter, Arie of Waterloo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Sr. and Ella Tyler; his grandparents; one grandson, DeVacea; two brothers, Charles and Cornelius; and one sister, Diane.
Memorials maybe directed to the family at 2739 East 4th Street, Waterloo, where they will be receiving friends.
