Delorce (Sanders) Eubanks' Obituary
A precious one from us has gone,
a voice we loved is stilled,
A place is vacant in our home
which never can be filled,
And after a lonely heartache,
and many a silent tear,
We’ll always have a beautiful memory
of one we loved so dear.
Delorce Eubanks, 72, was born January 23, 1954 in Phillip, Mississippi to Mills and Rosie Lee Sanders.
They moved to Waterloo, Iowa when she was two years old. She attended Longfellow Elementary, Jack M. Logan Junior High, and graduated from East High School, class of 1972. She married Floyd Eubanks in 1975, and had a son, Julian Eubanks.
Delorce was baptized at Antioch Baptist Church by Rev. Dr. Eugene Williams. She was an active member, participating in Sunday School, Usher Board, and several choirs and women ministries. She was also an active member at Faith Temple where Rev Belinda Creighton Smith is pastor.
She worked at National Bank of Waterloo, Rath Packing Company, and Home Shopping Network and was also a meter maid for the city of Cedar Falls, Iowa. She then pursued a career in cosmetology where she attended Pitze’s School of Beauty from 1983-1984, when she graduated. She did hair at home before going to work at Washington's House of Beauty, Robys Golden Comb, The Hair Port, and Tri-City Beauty. She touched many lives in the community during her hair styling career.
She was diagnosed with Dementia in 2016, and retired from doing hair in 2018. In March of 2023 she became a part of the Ravenwood Nursing Care Facility until March of 2026. She was then admitted into hospice at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital, where she passed on March 25, 2026.
She was preceded in death by her father; mother; and three brothers, Sammie Dell, Obie Smith, and Richard Smith.
